Wolkenkinder (original title: Cloudbabies ) is a British animated cartoon series from 2012. It was first broadcast in German-speaking countries on May 30, 2015 on KiKA . The series is aimed primarily at the youngest viewers of preschool age .

action

The main characters in the series are Baba Pink, Baba Yellow, Baba Blue and Baba Green, the cloud children. They live above the clouds and ensure, for example, that the stars sleep during the day, that the sun and moon rise and set in time and that the rainbow shines in bright colors. The adventures of the four mostly revolve around everyday issues such as eating and sleeping, but also about responsibility and jealousy.

reception

The medienbewusst.de initiative awards cloud children four out of five possible stars and praises the fact that the series "especially invites the youngest viewers [...] into a heavenly world of clouds and stars" and the content in an "imaginative way" conveyed to the children. The editorial team of the film-rezensions.de site also rated Wolkenkinder four out of five stars. The look of the series as well as the “empathy and feeling for the emotional world of small children” are positively highlighted, but it is pointed out that no serious educational or scientific aspects are to be expected in the adventures.
