The Woodlark Islands are made up of about twenty Islands archipelago in the Solomon Sea . Politically, they belong to the Milne Bay province in the southeastern part of Papua New Guinea .
The largest island in the group is Woodlark , also known as Muyua . Woodlark’s north-west coast is where u. a. Madau and Nusam . The islands of Mapas and Aiun are off the south coast . Nubara is located off the southeast coast . There are also a number of very small islands near the coast of the main island of Woodlark.
According to the 2000 census, only the western side island of Madau and the offshore island of Mapas in the south were inhabited.
