WorldTracer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WorldTracer is a service offered by SITA in cooperation with IATA for tracking luggage . It has been used by most passenger airlines , for example Lufthansa and Emirates, for years. The system allows, among other things, the quick identification of misdirected luggage.

It works globally and can therefore exchange information with any of the currently 2,800 connected airports. Baggage can be tracked for up to 100 days. WorldTracer works with baggage tracing systems from other manufacturers for even better results. The interface with the Internet also allows travelers to monitor the investigation process automatically after a process number has been issued.
