Sita (IT company)
Sita SC ( S ociété I nternationale de T élécommunication A éronautique ) is a cooperative founded in Belgium in 1949 that provides data processing and communication services in the aerospace, tourism and logistics sectors.

The customers of Sita SC are also the shareholders of Sita. The company employs 4,700 people worldwide in 140 countries with over 60 different languages. It had sales of $ 1.7 billion in 2018.
In 2000, a commercial spin-off was founded for the aviation industry : Sita Inc. with over 640 customers, for the supply of IT services and software solutions.
history
Sita was founded in 1949 by 11 airlines to operate their own independent network for data and voice communication. This network was initially used to exchange passenger data and information between the company's headquarters and the target area. Other services were added later, such as airborne radio via VHF over land and via satellite over the seas.
Services
Today Sita is a solution provider with the world's largest data and voice communication network as well as a provider of IT solutions specializing in the travel and transport industry. Sita's communication solutions are used by almost all leading (air) transport and travel companies. Sita offers communication solutions for companies, check-in systems and systems that are used at airports and airlines in 200 countries .
