World Federation of Workers

World Federation of Workers WVA ( World Confederation of Labor (WCL) or Confédération mondiale du Travail (CMT)) was an international trade union organization.

The WCL had 144 member organizations in 116 countries with 26 million. Individual members, predominantly in developing countries. Its predecessor was the International Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (IBCG) until 1968 , which emerged in 1920 from the International Secretariat of Christian Trade Unions . The secretariat was established in 1908.

From the merger of WVA and the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) the International Trade Union Confederation (IGB) emerged on November 1, 2006 in Vienna .
