World Literature Today is a bi-monthly magazine published by the University of Oklahoma . It was founded in 1927 by Roy Temple House under the name Books Abroad . Ernst Erich Noth was its editor from 1949 to 1959 , and the US-based poet Emma Kann was one of the staff until 1969. In January 1977 the magazine was renamed World Literature Today . Poetry, prose, commentaries and reviews appear in it without geographical restrictions. World Literature Today also funds the biennial Neustadt International Prize for Literatureand the annual Puterbaugh Conferences on World Literature .
