The World War II Victory Medal (German medal for the victory of the Second World War ) is an award of the US armed forces .

The medal has been awarded to participants in the Second World War since 1946 . According to the official criteria, the award can be given to all members of any military service in the United States and the Philippines who participated in combat operations on the US side between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946. The merchant marine of the United States led to the Merchant Marine World War II Victory Medal later own award.

The order bears the inscription WORLD WAR II on the front and the Four Freedoms FREEDOM FROM FEAR AND WANT and FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION as well as the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1941 1945 on the back.
