Wright-Martin Aircraft Company

The Wright-Martin Aircraft Company was an American company that was formed in September 1916 from the merger of the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company , Simplex Automobile Company and the Wright Company . One engaged in the manufacture of airplanes and aircraft engines and acquired a manufacturing license for Hispano-Suiza HS 8 engines.

Furthermore, the Loening M-8 was manufactured under license. Our own aircraft designs were the Martin V from 1916 and the unsuccessful Wright-Martin R from 1917.

Glenn Luther Martin broke away from this company on September 10, 1917 and founded the Glenn L. Martin Company . Aircraft and aircraft engines continued to be manufactured. After the end of the First World War , the company was restructured and went into the Wright Aeronautical .
