Xbox Entertainment Studios was an American television and film studio based in Santa Monica, California that Microsoft Studios founded in 2012 to create "interactive television content" for Xbox Live.
On July 17, 2014, Microsoft confirmed that the studio will be closed. On October 29, 2014, the Vice President and President resigned from Xbox Entertainment Studios and the company officially closed.
Projects
At the time of its closure, Xbox Entertainment Studios was developing its first projects: a documentary about the 1983 video game crash, a science fiction drama called Humans, and a live-action television series based on the Halo franchise. Future projects should include a remake of the BBC science fiction series Blake's 7, a restart of the Canadian children's hospital documentary series Little Miracles and an autobiographical series about the rapper Nas.
The studio released a street soccer reality series called Every Street United .
In September 2014, The Hollywood Reporter reported that AMC was in talks to acquire the rights to Humans .
