History and use
The building opened on June 13, 1986. It is owned by Live Nation New England, part of the Live Nation Entertainment program. The subsidiary also runs the facility. In 2002 the event site was renovated. Previously it was expanded in 1994. Overall, the amphitheater offers space for more than 20,000 visitors for concerts. Well-known artists from the music industry such as Eric Clapton , David Bowie , Elton John and The Who have performed in the theater, which cost 13 million US dollars .
