Xingqi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Xingqi ( Wade-Giles Hsing-ch'i, literally circling the breath ) is a Daoist breathing method in which one lets the breath circulate in the body and consciously guides it into all parts of the body.

This breathing method originated from embryonic breathing (Taixi) and is part of the “Techniques for Nourishing the Body” (Daoyin, Tugu naxin). It is passed down through an inscription on a jade belt pendant, which dates from the 3rd to 5th centuries BC. Is dated.
