Xu Haidong ( Chinese徐海東 / 徐海东, Pinyin Xú Hǎidōng ; born June 12, 2000 in Shijiazhuang ) is a Chinese table tennis player .

Career

Xu made his first international appearances in 2016 when he became the Asian youth champion in singles and won silver with the team, which missed the final for the first time in December at the Youth World Cup due to a semi-final defeat against South Korea. Xu won the title with the team in 2017. From 2018 Xu played regularly on the World Tour , this year he also moved up to No. 1 in the U-18 world rankings and won gold in singles, doubles and with at the World Youth Championship the team.

Play style

Xu Haidong is an attacking player and uses the Asian penholder stick position .
