The governors of the Chinese provinces created by the Yuan dynasty were referred to as Xunfu ( Chinese巡撫 xúnfǔ) . The governors were appointed or deposed by the emperor. The post was abolished with the end of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China in 1911.
