Xylobiont

Xylobiont (from the Greek xylos wood ; and bios life ) means “living in wood”, “living in wood” or “wood dweller”.

Xylobionts feed completely or partially on wood , inhabit it or use the cellulose contained in the wood to build nests. Xylobionts can be fungi ( tree fungi ) or animals . In the animal kingdom that provide insect most xylobiont, led by the beetle , for example from the family of longhorn beetles .
