Yōko Shimada

Yōko Shimada ( Japanese 島 田 陽 子 , Shimada Yōko ; born May 17, 1953 in Kumamoto , Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a Japanese film actress . She became known to a wide audience in 1980 on the side of Richard Chamberlain in the miniseries Shogun . For the role of Mariko, she also received the Golden Globe for best series actress in a drama in 1981 .
