Yachting Monthly is a British monthly magazine for sailors . The publisher is IPC Media .

The magazine was first published in 1906. The Manchester Guardian described the first issue as "a substantial and well-illustrated magazine that actually contains something worth reading".

Since 1983, the magazine has included the popular “Confessions” column, which was invented by the then editor-in-chief Des Sleightholme . In it, "yachties" ease their conscience and confess their greatest embarrassments, illustrated with caricatures by Mike Peyton . These sailing confessions have also been published as bound books.

The test series with the Fizzical, known as the “crash test boot”, also caused a stir in 2011/12 . The sailing yacht was systematically destroyed as a test object for averting accidents.
