Yahya Dibba stood in the 2012 parliamentary election as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the constituency of Kiang West in the Mansa Konko Administrative Area . Since there was no opposing candidate from the opposition, he was able to win the constituency for himself. On September 6, Dibba was arrested and detained on the instructions of the party, and he was also expelled from the APRC with immediate effect. He was accused of behavior that was harmful to the party, and what exactly did not get into the public eye. As a result, by-elections in the Kiang West constituency were scheduled for December 5, 2013.
