The Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) ( German alliance for patriotic reorientation and construction ) is an authoritarian party in Gambia . The party's motto is: English " Unity, Self Reliance, Progress " = " Unity, independence, progress ".
Jammeh also won the October 18, 2001 presidential election with 53.0 percent of the vote. In the general election for the National Assembly on January 17, 2002, the party won 45 of 48 seats, 33 of them unopposed. The elections were boycotted by the opposition United Democratic Party .
