Kanifing
Kanifing (spelling variant: Kanifeng ) is a district of the municipality Kanifing ( English Kanifing Municipal ) in the West African state of Gambia .
The district is located in the center of the municipality and belongs to the place Serekunda . In the 1993 census, Kanifing was not listed as a separate location. Kanifing is the location of the University of Gambia, founded in 1998 .

Bakau New Town (or Fajara ), a district of Bakau , is adjacent to the north and northeast, the border is defined by the Bertil Harding Highway , which runs eastwards. In part, an area south of the Bertil Harding Highway is still counted as Fajara. In the east lies Old Jeshwang , the Jimpex Road represents the border between the two districts. In the south Kanifing is bounded by the Banjul-Serekunda Highway , in the south lies New Jeshwang . The district of Latri Kunda is adjacent to the west, the border is defined by Kairaba Avenue , which runs from the northwest to the southeast.
economy
In Kanifing and Old Jeshwang is the center of industry and economy in Gambia, numerous companies such as the Banjul Breweries are based here. The Gambia television station, Gambia Radio & Television Services , is also based here with the studio. In Kanifing, for example, you can find building material dealers and car dealers.
