Banjul-Serekunda Highway

The Banjul-Serekunda Highway (partly also Banjul-Jeshwang highway ) in the West African state of Gambia connects the capital Banjul in a westerly direction with the city of Serekunda , which is located in the agglomeration of Kombo-St. Mary Area is located. Since Banjul is located on an island, St. Mary's Island , the highway that crosses a bridge is the only access road to Banjul for road traffic .

The road, which according to European standards is developed like a motorway with two separate lanes and a green median, begins in Banjul at the roundabout at Arch 22 . Independence Drive , Box Bar Road and Marina Parade lead from this intersection . The Gambia Senior Secondary School is located at the beginning of the Banjul-Serekunda Highway . Half a kilometer after the start are the Muslim and Christian cemetery of Banjul. After one and a half kilometers, Kankujeri Road , better known under its old name, Bund Road, turns left , and connects Banjul via a dam via a second path to the south; at this junction was the radio station Radio Syd on the right side .

After 2.3 kilometers, Mile 2 Central Prison will be on the left , two miles from the city center. Opposite on the right, after 2.6 kilometers there are some oil mills that process peanut oil .
