The Gambia Radio & Television Service (GRTS) is a semi-public broadcasting company in the West African state of Gambia .

history

Radio Gambia was founded in 1962.

In December 1995, Radio Gambia was taken over by the Gambia Telecommunications Company and in 1996 its own television station was set up. The Société Générale provided the majority of the credit for this at the time. These two units were spun off in 2000 as an independent, state-owned company called Gambia Radio & Television Services (GRTS).

Awards

In 2010 the company received the Order of the Republic of The Gambia with the rank of "Commander" (CRG).
