Old Jeshwang

Old Jeshwang is a district of the municipality Kanifing ( English Kanifing Municipal ) in the West African state of Gambia .

The district is located in the north of the municipality and belongs to the place Serekunda . In the 1993 census, Old Jeshwang was listed as a separate town with 8,480 inhabitants.

The mangrove forest Tanbi Wetland Complex , protected as a nature reserve, connects to the north and west, while Cape Road borders Old Jeshwang to the north. The district of New Jeshwang is neighboring in the south. In the west lies Kanifing , the Jimpex Road represents the border between the two districts. Bakau New Town (or Fajara ), a district of Bakau , is adjacent in the northwest, the border is defined by the Bertil Harding Highway , the eastern direction runs.
