The Yoroi-dōshi is a kind of armored carver . It is designed to pierce armor in close combat . Yoroi-dōshi do not form a separate weapon type, but are only particularly powerful tantō . There are specimens with a blade thickness of over 10 mm. The length is approximately between 22 cm to 29 cm. He came z. B. used in duels or battles when the samurai had brought his opponent to the ground in order to then stab through the weak points of the armor.
