Zurich longitudinal studies

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zurich longitudinal studies on child development were initiated in 1954 by Andrea Prader and Guido Fanconi . Since 1954, these studies have examined the development of more than seven hundred children from birth to adulthood. The generation study also examined children of the first generation.

In the mid-1970s Remo H. Largo took over the management of the studies. The Zurich longitudinal studies have a great international impact and are among the most comprehensive studies on child development. Oskar Jenni, head of the developmental pediatrics department at the Children's Hospital Zurich , has been leading the study since 2006 .
