Zope Object Database

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zope Object Database ( English for Zope Object Database , also ZODB ) is an object-oriented database that is used by the Zope web application server to store data persistently. This are Python - objects mapped directly into the database. ZODB can also be used independently of Zope.

history

When ZODB was brought to life by Jim Fulton at Zope Corporation in the late 1990s , it was the simple form of a POV (Persistent Object System) . The persistence of ZODB was a predecessor of today's metaclass implementation of Python . Due to a significant architectural change, ZOPE3 was renamed (formerly Principia ). The fourth version of the entire ZOPE3 package was re-implemented exclusively in Python.
