The zalp is a newspaper for alpine staff such as shepherds , cheese makers or milkers who spend the summer in the Alps. It appears once a year and is usually sent to the Alpine arc at the end of July.

In 1990 the first zalp , at that time still called z'alp, was published by the alpine community. The print run slowly increased from 1,000 to 5,100 at the moment.

Zalp has had its own website since 2002. In addition to the archive, the job exchange has developed into the largest job market for alpine farmers, shepherds, cheese makers and herdsmen.
