Pliers (engineering)

Pliers are the removal of large stones, mostly with the help of excavators , from stony coastal areas in order to use them for docks , piers and other fortifications. Clipping stones is forbidden today as it damages the natural coastal protection . This method was used in the construction of the Rostock overseas port in the years up to 1960.
