The Geitlinger Stolln colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Frohnhausen . Very little is reported about the mine. In the Mühlbachtal, tunnel mining was already being carried out in this mine in the 18th century .
Mining history
In 1804 the Bernhard shaft was dismantled . There is evidence that the mine was in operation in 1805, 1809 and 1813. In 1815 the mine was shut down. The Neuer Geitlinger Stolln colliery was used as the successor. This tunnel was built in the Mühlenbachtal in the 18th century. The mine was still in operation in the 19th century. The mine was probably shut down in the same century, but the exact time is not known.
