Mining history
On July 7th of the year 1794 the concession for the mining of hard coal was granted by the abbot of Werden. In 1802, the tunnel mouth hole was created on Freiherr vom Stein-Straße in the direction of Heisingen . This year, around seven barrels of hard coal were extracted per day. The mine was also in operation the following year. In 1804 a conveyor tunnel was excavated . In December 1806, operations were stopped. In 1811, mining took place again, mining took place in open-pit operation 1. In 1815 further mining, mining took place in open-cast operations 1, 3 and 4. From November 1818, the Isenberg colliery was decommissioned. Thereafter, further information is missing, presumably the mine was completely shut down.
