The Saufberg colliery was a hard coal mine in the Buchholz-Kämpen district of Witten .

history

The awarding of the mining area took place in 1727, the survey found in 1739 instead. In 1754/55 the mine was temporarily put into operation, but was closed again for the time being due to a lack of sales. In 1768 it was measured again.

In 1867 3,000 tons were extracted; 1872 5,600 tons (22 employees). In 1876, the mine finally came out of service and drowned. In 1878 the mine was leased and put back into operation. The highest production was achieved with 11,000 tons of coal in 1881 (25 employees). In 1888 there were no longer any coal stocks. In 1891 after the dismantling of remaining pillars of operation, the mine finally closed set and 1899 after a short re-promoting recording.
