The mine of St. George was a coal - mine in Esborn , now a suburb of Wetter (Ruhr) . The length field of the St. Georg colliery was awarded in 1788 .
In 1843 the mine was with other Berechtsamen to Ver. St. George united.
A tunnel from the Schmalenbecke valley to the south was excavated for deep outcrop and drainage .
The tunnel has broken and was built over while the road was being built. Today nothing reminds of the colliery on site.
