Zeitgeist

Zeitgeister is a waltz by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 25). The work was performed for the first time on February 23, 1846 in Dommayers Casino in Hietzing as part of a benefit event.

Remarks

The playing time on the CD below is 7 minutes and 58 seconds. Depending on the musical conception of the conductor, this time can change by up to a minute plus or minus. On the complete edition of the orchestral works by Johann Strauss (Sohn), which comprises 52 CDs and was published by the Naxos label , the work can be heard as the first track on the 7th CD.
