The newspaper vum Lëtzebuerger Vollek ( Luxembourgish for newspaper of the Luxembourg people ) is a Marxist- oriented political daily in Luxembourg . The reporting covers all areas of society as well as national and international political events. The newspaper first appeared on July 1, 1946 and is based in Esch an der Alzette . It is regarded as the central organ of the Communist Party of Luxembourg (KPL). The newspaper is subsidized by the Luxembourg State through press aid. In 2013 this amount was 383,031 euros.
