The Zelmer SA is a publicly traded company from the southeastern Polish Rzeszów . It is the regional leading supplier of household appliances such as vacuum cleaners and small kitchen appliances in Central and Eastern Europe with a market share of around 22 percent in Poland.

history

Zelmer SA was founded in 1937. After the attack on Poland , the factory was destroyed by the Germans. All machines, production facilities and factory halls were dismantled and brought to Germany together with raw materials . After the end of the Second World War , the company developed into a leading manufacturer of household appliances in Poland. In the course of reprivatisation, the company was listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2005 . The largest shareholder was the Polish private equity investor Enterprise Investors with a stake of 49 percent. In November 2012, the German household appliance manufacturer BSH Hausgeräte announced that it had concluded an agreement to purchase the shares in Enterprise Investors and that it was submitting a public takeover offer. The transaction was completed in March 2013 following a public takeover offer with the acquisition of over 97 percent of the capital in Zelmer SA and a subsequent squeeze-out .

On January 1, 2020, BSH Hausgeräte sold the rights to the Zelmer brand to the Spanish group B&B Trends.
