Center for satellite-based crisis information

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Center for Satellite-Based Crisis Information ( ZKI for short ) is a service of the German Remote Sensing Data Center , which in turn is an institution of the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

The ZKI started operations at the beginning of 2013 as a cooperation project between the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the DLR and is responsible for the provision and analysis of satellite data, for example in the event of a natural disaster . The information to be drawn from this is intended to support crisis intervention and prevention as well as reconstruction. The data are intended for both national and international organizations, but are also made available to the public.
