Zeri Mahbub ( "nice money" ) were called gold coins in the Ottoman Empire , which were made by Sultan Ahmed III since the beginning of the 18th century (from 1711) . and its successors were minted and circulated for over 100 years. Their weight was usually around 2.5 to 2.6 g. The coins were minted in full, half, quarter and double denominations.
