The Marler Höhe is around three kilometers long and between 200 meters and three kilometers wide. The south of the Marler Höhe is built on with a settlement, on the eastern, wide foothills lies the small village Hagewede, which belongs to the municipality of Marl (Dümmer). In the west, large parts of the village of Marl are on the heights, in the north is the village of Hüde with its sub-village of Sandbrink. However, most of the altitude is used for agriculture. Both the federal road 51 (Bremen - Osnabrück - Ruhr area) and the large railway line that follows the course of the federal road run across the Marler Höhe .

Worth seeing

The Marler Höhe is 40 to 47.1 meters high and is up to ten meters above the surrounding area. On the Marler Höhe one finds the somewhat remote village Hagewede with its few houses; most of them are built in a half-timbered style and covered with thatch , as it used to be in the area around the Dümmer and is still today.

Another village is Marl (Dümmer) with its many half-timbered houses, which are also mostly thatched, there is also an old Thieplatz from the Germanic era with the old Thie linden trees . Marl and Hüde with Sandbrink, which is located directly on the Dümmer , the second largest inland lake in Lower Saxony , are recognized places of relaxation ; the swimming pool at Hüde is at the northern end of the Marler Höhe.

The area is ideal for cycling or hiking around the Dümmer with the Ochsenmoor or in the Stemweder Berg .

Surveys

The Marler Höhe is up to 47.1 meters high, but the individual mountain peaks are unnamed; only the highest point, like the entire ridge , is called the Marler Höhe.

Flowing waters

There are no flowing waters directly at the Marler Höhe, only the Hunte flows into the Dümmer about three kilometers away, which is only about 200 meters away.
