Central evaluation and accreditation agency

The Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency ( ZEvA ) was founded in 1995 by the universities in Lower Saxony and in 2008 it was converted into an independent private foundation based in Hanover.

It is divided into three sections: program accreditation, system accreditation and evaluation and advice. On February 4, 2000, it was certified by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Study Programs in Germany and is the first German accreditation agency in the tertiary education sector. ZEvA accredits and evaluates in Germany, Europe and beyond. It is one of the few agencies that is interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary and therefore covers all main study areas at colleges and universities in external quality assurance.
