from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cistercian monastery of San Bernardo (Burgos) has been a monastery of the Cistercian women since 1180, first in Renuncio near Burgos , then in Burgos in Spain .

history

The nunnery, founded in Renuncio (7 kilometers southwest of Burgos) in 1180, became Cistercian in 1379, moved to the city of Burgos and first settled in the Convento de las Bernardas ("the Saint Bernard Sisters") on Calle Calzadas 3 (today the Municipal Music School) Convent of the Madres Bernardas at 60 Paseo de los Pisones . The convent belongs to the Cistercian Congregation of San Bernardo (CCSB) . Their main monastery, Las Huelgas , is also in Burgos, where there is therefore a double presence of Saint Bernard sisters.
