The Zmijanje embroidery ( Serbian - Cyrillic Змијањски вез Zmijanjski vez ) is a special embroidery technique in the Zmijanje region in Bosnia and Herzegovina . Traditionally, this form of embroidery is used to decorate women's costumes, wedding dresses, shawls, clothing or bed linen. The main features of the embroidery are the deep blue or black threads and the improvised geometric shapes. The wealth and variations of embroidered patterns determine the social status of women in the region.

The Zmijanje embroidery is characterized by the harmony and stylistic perfection geometric ornaments that are combined exclusively in dark blue or black with each other, as opposed to other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where embroidery is performed in up to four colors.
