Zope Page Templates
" Zope Page Templates " (ZPT) are page templates used by Zope that are used to generate HTML , XHTML and XML pages. You use the following technologies developed for Zope:
- Template Attribute Language (TAL)
- TALES (TAL Expression Syntax)
- METAL (Macro Expansion TAL)
- i18n TAL ( internationalization )
Extensions compared to the standard
TALES
The Zope implementation of TALES additionally defines the following built-in names:
- root
- the root object of the Zope instance
- context (outdated here )
- the context of the object on which the template was called (the pointer to itself, ( self ) of the Python language )
- Container
- the container (folder) that contains the template
- template
- the template itself
- request
- the request object of the ZPublisher
- modules
- a collection of modules that provide further functionalities
