Zos Kia (also spelled Zoskia or Zos-Kia ) was a British industrial band from the early 1980s. It was founded by John Gosling , John Balance and Min Kent, later Peter Christopherson , who had previously worked for Throbbing Gristle, also joined, and guest musicians often took part. The band was founded in the context of the early Psychic TV . In the beginning she was closely connected to the band Coil and played concerts under different names in 1982/1983, partly documented on the split album Transparent . The name Zos Kia is derived from Zos Kia Cultus , a magical term used by the Briton Austin Osman Spare .

In 1983 Balance and Christopherson decided to focus on Coil alone. The following material was created almost entirely by John Gosling, after a few singles and maxi singles in 1984 and 1985, however, with the exception of a techno maxi with Sugardog in 1987, no further publications under the name Zos Kia followed. Gosling then worked successfully as Sugar J and Mekon in the dance floor area.
