Zouk Machine

Zouk Machine is a band from Guadeloupe with the style Zouk .

Career

Guy Houllier and Yves Honoré, members of the group Expérience 7, founded the group in 1986 with the singers Joëlle Ursull , Christiane Obydol, and Dominique Zorobabel, known as Les Zoukettes . Her first album Sové Lanmou was a great success. Joëlle Ursull left the group soon after to begin her solo career. She appeared in 1990 at Eurovision and took second place. In 1989 Jane Fostin joined the group.

From their album Maldon, the band had their biggest hit in 1989 with Maldon '(la musique dans la peau) , which was number one in the French charts for nine weeks.

In 1995 there were problems in the band, as a result of which it was partially reorganized under the name New Zouk Machine . Jane Fostin left the group a little later and Christiane Obydol and Dominique Zorobabel decided to let the group go on together. In 2006 Dominique Zorobabel left the group for her solo career. Christiane Obydol continued and released the last album Koud'Soley in 2008.
