Zubin Varla

Zubin Varla (* 1970 in London ) is a British actor and singer. He is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.

Varla became known to a wider audience through the role of Judas Iscariot in the 1996 new production of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar . The recording of the performance, staged at the Lyceum Theater in London , was also released on a music CD.

After Jesus Christ Superstar, he appeared in various productions in the West End of London, such as Cyrano de Bergerac and Julius Caesar.

In 2001 he played the role of Saleem Sinai in the play Midnight Children written by Salman Rushdie . It was the first stage version of the work and was performed in England and the USA. He appeared as Frederick Trumper on the 2001 Danish tour of the musical Chess . This production was also recorded and released as a music CD. There followed roles and a. in 2008 as Daniel Doyce in the BBC television production Little Dorrit after Charles Dickens .
