Eux's Augustinesses

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The congregation of the Augustinies , mainly active in nursing , is the first congregation in Africa (Congo).

In 1960 the Zwartsters from Dendermonde founded a mission station in Doruma, which in 1962 received its own novitiate. Since the conditions developed extremely favorably, numerous admissions were recorded and further stations could be taken on, concrete preparations began in 1980 for the formation of an independent congregation in Africa. After giving themselves their own constitutions in 1988 , they became an independent congregation in 1991.
