Forced flow boiler

The forced-flow boiler is used in conventionally fired steam power plants to generate water vapor .

The design differs from the natural circulation boiler in the way it works. When natural circulation boiler which circulates feedwater due to its difference in density , when forced circulation boiler which promotes feed pump to be evaporated water through the tube bundle of a heat exchanger executed steam generator . As a result, a smaller design can be achieved than with a natural circulation boiler. Furthermore, a more even regulation of the steam generation is possible, since it can be controlled not only by the temperature of the combustion, but also by the water throughput.

The forced circulation boilers can be divided into two main types, the forced circulation boiler (e.g. LaMont boiler) and the forced flow boiler (e.g. Benson or Sulzer boiler). The types of forced circulation boilers differ essentially in the type of pipe winding or pipe arrangement. A forced circulation boiler usually has a steam drum for the circulating water. The once-through boilers are drumless, as the water at the end of an evaporator tube is completely evaporated.
