The 2nd Greek Evangelical Church ( Greek Δεύτερη / Β 'Ελληνική Ευαγγελική Εκκλησία , Defteri Elliniki Ekklisia) is the second parish of the Greek Evangelical Church that was established in Athens .

history

The community was founded in 1924 by refugees who escaped the Asia Minor catastrophe . First they gathered in the Royal Chapel (Βασιλικό Παρεκκλήσι, Vasliko Parekklisi) and then for a while in the First Greek Evangelical Church and in the Armenian Evangelical Church (Αρμένικη Ευαγγελική Εκκσ .λη Εκσ had their own building completed In 1929 they erected a church building in Koukaki (Κουκάκι), where the church is still located today.

The first pastor of the parish was Xenofon Moschou (Ξενοφών Μόσχου), who had already been pastor in Smyrna from 1893 to 1922. After the end of World War II and the death of Moschou took Georgios Chatziantoniou (Γεώργιος Χατζηαντωνίου) the office until 1962. Other pastors were Georgios Paidakis (Γεώργιος Παιδάκης, 1963-1984), Christos Kontopoulos (Χρήστος Κοντόπουλος, 1984-1987), Apostolos Bliatis (Απόστολος Μπλιάτης, 1988–2002), and Georgios Adam (Γεώργιος Αδάμ, since 2002).
