The second law to implement a package of measures to stabilize the financial market (Second Financial Market Stabilization Act - 2nd FMStG) regulates the reactivation of the financial market stabilization fund until the end of 2012 . It thus follows the Financial Market Stabilization Act .

The financial market stabilization fund can help tumbling banks with capital aid of up to 80 billion euros and guarantees of up to 420 billion euros.
