A two-round press is a special type of printing press .

description

In the case of letterpress cylinder high-speed presses, a distinction is made between one-turn and two-turn high-speed presses. Normally after each rotation of the printing cylinder under pressure (= printing process) the paper is transferred from the "cylinder gripper" to the "delivery gripper", the pressure is automatically switched off to allow the printing form to move back (accelerated) under the cylinder to its starting position to enable where a fresh sheet is drawn in from the paper system. This type is called a single-speed high-speed press, as the printing cylinder only performs one rotation per printing process. With the two-speed high-speed press, the cylinder makes two revolutions (tours) with each printing process: the first to guide the sheet from the paper system through the printing process, and a second to convey the printed sheet to the sheet delivery while the printing form moves back to its starting position and from here a fresh sheet is supplied for the new printing process.
