Dwarf death

The term dwarf death is used in sport climbing . If there is a point in a climbing route that the climber cannot overcome due to his or her height , for example because the next grip is no longer accessible, then such a point or the failure of the climber at this point is referred to as dwarf death .

Dwarf death occurs much less often than one might suspect. Many top climbers such as Lynn Hill (1.57 m) master routes of the highest difficulty levels despite their small body size .
